Structural formwork plywood
Formply manufactured to AS/NZS 6669, in the thicknesses and F-ratings Australian formwork jobs actually order.
View FormplyFormply, formwork LVL, H20 beams, steel props and accessories — the full kit from one supplier.
Running short on one formwork item mid-pour is not a small problem. Auswood stocks the full kit across four branches, so resupply is a phone call to your nearest warehouse, not a scramble across three different suppliers.

View AccessoriesFormply is a structural plywood engineered specifically for concrete formwork — overlaid to release cleanly and rated for the loads a wet pour puts on it. It is not the same product as standard structural plywood, and using the wrong sheet on a pour is an expensive way to find that out.
Formply carries a film or resin overlay for clean release and repeat-pour durability that standard structural plywood is not built for. Standard ply will absorb moisture, swell and degrade faster against wet concrete.
The F-rating is the stress grade — F17 is stiffer and stronger than F14 for the same thickness, which matters on longer unsupported spans between bearers.
Thicker sheets run further between bearers before deflection becomes a problem. Bearer spacing on your job is the thing that actually decides the thickness you need — talk to your branch with your spacing before you order.
Formply on this site is manufactured to AS/NZS 6669. Not sure which thickness or F-rating suits your job’s bearer spacing? Send through the spec and get a quote.
Order formwork for more than one active site on the one trade account, instead of managing separate accounts per job.
Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth all stock the formwork range, so a short-notice top-up doesn’t depend on one warehouse.
Consistent, certified stock so what you order this pour is the same product you ordered last pour.
A structural plywood engineered specifically for concrete formwork, with an overlay for clean release from the pour. Auswood’s formply is manufactured to AS/NZS 6669.
Formply carries a release-coated overlay and a stress grade suited to wet concrete loads. Standard structural plywood has no release coating and will absorb moisture and degrade faster against a pour.
They are built for different jobs. Marine ply is graded for water resistance and appearance, not for the release properties and formwork stress grade that formply is engineered for. For concrete formwork, formply is the correct product.
It is a single-purpose product — the release overlay that makes it good for formwork is not a finish you would want on furniture-grade or exposed ply. It also costs more than standard structural ply, which the reduced sticking and longer usable life need to offset.
The overlay is designed to resist the moisture of a wet pour for repeat use, not for permanent submersion or long-term weather exposure. It is a formwork product, not an exterior cladding product.
Formply is a formwork product, used repeatedly and stripped between pours — it is not specified as permanent outdoor cladding, so long-term unprotected weather exposure is outside its intended use.
The release overlay is designed specifically so nothing bonds to it well, including paint — that is the point of the coating. If you need a paintable sheet for a non-formwork application, that is a different product to formply.
It comes down to bearer spacing and pour pressure on your job, not a single default thickness. Send your spacing through with a quote request and the branch will confirm the right sheet.
The number is the stress grade. F17 is stronger and stiffer than F14 in the same thickness, which lets it run further between bearers before deflection becomes an issue.
It depends heavily on handling, release agent use and how the sheet is stripped between pours — there is no single number that applies to every job. Ask your branch for guidance specific to your application.
Yes — formply, Envirobeam Formwork LVL, H20 beams, steel props and formwork accessories are all stocked in the one category, so the full kit can go on one order.
Yes, on the one trade account. With branches in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, a top-up order can come from whichever branch is closest to the site that needs it.
Send through your bearer spacing and quantities and a branch will come back with the right formply grade, LVL and props.
